Course Details
This comprehensive one-day training course is tailored specifically for pest control professionals, focusing on the crucial relationship between rats and drainage systems. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of how rats use drainage networks to access both above-ground external areas and internal spaces. The course will provide practical skills for conducting thorough inspections and identifying infestation points that may be missed by standard drain surveys.

The course is divided into a balanced mix of classroom learning and hands-on practical tasks. Participants will engage in on-site activities, including lifting drainage covers and selecting and installing appropriate products to address identified entry points. Emphasis will be placed on correct product selection and installation to prevent further issues.

During the Practical Drain Awareness course you will learn:
• Understand the functions and types of drainage systems within various properties.
• The scope of monitoring tools available, their pros and cons
• Conduct risk assessments, understand health and safety protocols, and comply with relevant legislation related to drainage systems.
• Identify key signs of rodent infestations.- Contain and control rodent issues using appropriate solutions.
• Conduct practical site surveys to assess drainage and infestation risks.
• Select and install products for control and correction of rodent entry points.
• Legislates surrounding drains and surveys (ownership etc.)
• The importance of Health & Safety. This will include risk assessments, safe systems of work, PPE etc.

• More than 20 working days prior to the course are not subject to charge.
• Between 10 and 20 working days prior to the course, 50% of the fee will be charged.
• Those received less than 10 working days prior to the course will be liable for the full cost.
